Obsessed With Perry / The Mall Event :)

The kids each had a bit of Christmas money to spend, so we waited two days after Christmas, then decided to go spend it. :)

Actually this particular trip was mainly for the girls, but since all three boys had been playing Wii practically non-stop since about 1pm Christmas Day I insisted that they turn off the Wii, get out of their room, leave the house and come along with us.

This little excursion was something of A FIRST. An event. I had never before taken ALL FIVE OF MY KIDS to THE MALL.

I'm not much of a mall person. Grocery stores love me, malls...not so much. Since I don't frequent the mall myself, its really no wonder that I had never ventured there with my rather large brood before. This particular day however I decided to be somewhat adventurous.

We knew our destination was The Disney Store, and I at least thought it was a fun little outing for all of us. Though I showed Quinice Mu-Lan, Belle and Jasmine, she was adamant about purchasing a Rapunzel plush doll, exactly like the one her sister had received for Christmas. Quincie also purchased a small plush Perry the Platypus, from the Disney show Phineas and Ferb, and she loves them both. :)

Cory and Wade each decided to get a small plush Perry too, and I had to giggle that we bought a grand total of three. Mallie bought a Sleeping Beauty plush doll, even though she had a smaller Sleeping Beauty plush doll at home. Oh well. Sleeping Beauty is her favorite princess.

It is impossible to avoid the carousel whilst leaving The Disney Store. The littles spotted it and begged to ride it. The big boys were balking of course; they were more than ready to retreat to their den / bedroom and resume their interrupted Wii game. However, Mama couldn't pass it up. Since this mall event is not an everyday occurrence for us, I just couldn't deny the three littles a ride.

The carousel did not disappoint. Its a double-decker and we were able to secure a dolphin for Wade and two ponies for the girlsies on the top deck. I'm not sure why, but Q decided to get excessively loud at this point. There was a little girl riding right beside Quincie, and well, suffice it to say that Q practically spoiled the carousel ride for her.

The poor little girl couldn't peel her wide eyes away from Q as for the duration of the ride Q made very loud, Uhhhhh, Uhhhhh, Uhhhhh noises. I was trying to quiet Quincie down, but wasn't having a whole lot of success. To that little girl who had obviously never been around a special needs non-communicative little person before, I do apologize that mine spoiled your carousel ride. ;( We sincerely wished that everyone could have enjoyed it as much as we did.

The big boys were nothing short of thrilled to leave the mall. We got home, the boys resumed their Wii playing and the girls played with their new plush dolls. I'm thinking I won't be able to drag my bigs to the mall again anytime soon, but I was definitely glad they had tagged along this time. It was fun to successfully haul all five kids to the mall...and back again. :)
