My Little Po :)

Quincie and I decided to get Brent the movie Kung Fu Panda 2 for Christmas as its one thing he had actually asked for.

I posted once about the time our family saw this movie in the theater. Now that we own it we have watched it several more times, and each time we re-watch it Quincie seems more and more like my own little Po. :)

Po of course is the Panda Bear in the movie. Quincie is sort of like a panda bear anyway. She has a round Buddha belly and is sort of soft and squishy and plush and cuddly all over. And did we mention that Po's favorite pastime is eating?

Watching this movie with Quincie qualifies as nothing short of an event. She LOVES this movie and acts it out amazingly well. She gets all of her stuffed pandas, a small step stool and as many scarves as she can carry so that she can put her baby Po into a radish crate, which is the inverted step stool filled with pink and purple scarves.

She jumps up and down, hops all over the place and even copies Master Shifu's footwork perfectly when he demonstrates for Po how to harness inner peace. She loves it when I come out and am her supporting actor. I always get stuck with the Pillow Pet Panda Bear, not that I mind terribly. :) But I do think its funny that I am the big Mommy Panda Bear and she is the baby Po Panda.

She laughs and laughs and laughs some more, she shrieks and howls, she makes gutteral noises that I think no panda alive could possibly make, but are vintage Quincie noises nonetheless. She simply throws herself wholeheartedly into the magic of this movie. Its a marvelous sight to behold.

This movie is excruciatingly sentimental for our family, but especially Brent and myself. The story takes place in China, and Po is forcibly abandoned by his parents and is adopted by a kindly goose. :) Quincie laughs and laughs now at how Mr. Ping finds baby Po inside of a crate of radishes. She has no inkling that there is a larger concept / significant meanings behind this scene. Someday though, she will.

When that day comes, I'm glad we have this movie to reference. I hope Q will continue to love Brent and me like Po chooses to continue to love his father in this second Kung Fu Panda installment. Somehow I think she will. I hope she does. Because Quincie is my little Po through and through, and I simply love her to China and back. :)
